My name is Rachel Ro. I was born January 28, 1994 during what is now referred to as “The Great Meltdown.” Amidst a winter of intense blizzards and snowstorms, January 28was a warmer day, the day when all of the accumulated snow began to melt. The result was flooding of all the highways and streets in Bergen County. My dad, on his was way home from work, was stuck on the highway. His car wouldn’t start, and the engine was flooded. He was then interviewed for the news that night, and my family showed the tape of the newscast at my Bat Mitzvah!
I am the eldest of the five kids in my family. I have two sisters and two brothers. My parents, siblings and I have lived in New Jersey all our lives. I have never been to any interesting countries, but if I were given the choice to go anywhere in the world, I would choose to visit Rome. I have brown hair and brown eyes. My favorite color is purple. I always wear purple clothes.
I love going to the movies and getting manicures with my friends. I love the winter and playing in the snow. I have always wanted to build an igloo. Unfortunately, there has never been enough snow here. I’m not really athletic, but I do play hockey and am a goalie. I also love coffee. I really love LATIN! In Frisch, students have the option of taking French, Spanish or Latin, and I chose Latin. It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I love the language! I hope to learn many more languages, because I think they are really interesting!
